Only when the last tree has died
And the last river has been poisened
And the last fish been caught
Will we realize that we cannot eat money. A Cree Indian saying

I share this saying with my non-homesteading friends when they ask me why I live an alternative simpler lifestyle. They cannot understand why I do so much for myself when I could just "buy it at the store". Thank-you for reaffirming the lifestyle choice.
