I have a good friend who lives down there that needs help on her farm. She grows fruits and veggies to sell to neighbors, etc. I know about raising livestock, she knows about raising plants, so we're going to combine our efforts. I hope to find a place on about an acre to have my own gardens, and some chickens, and then help her on her 42-acre farm where she has more area to have a few hogs and maybe some meat goats. She makes trips to town 2 or 3 times a month, but mainly grows her own foods. I'd have to drive to her place to help her, but it wouldn't be much of a distance, and if I get really serious about it, I can do like the Mennonite and Amish communities in the area and get a horse and wagon - seriously!
